Born in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, Ishant Bhardwaj belongs to a small village Dibba Ridkamar in Dharakandi, Tehsil Shahpur, District Kangra. Coming from a simple background, he completed his early education from his village school and GSSS Darini. His real learning came from life, struggles, and experiences. His journey started with hardship, where he worked as a daily wage labourer earning only ₹60 a day. Despite challenges, music remained his passion and strength. His connection with Himachali folk music grew through village gatherings, jagrans, cultural events, and by listening to legendary artists like Karnail Rana. Known for his soulful voice and deep connection with Gaddi culture, Ishant has created around 100 songs as a singer, writer, composer, and music director. His popular songs like Gojariyo, Kudmate, Simlo, Bindra Bana Bo Kheri Gojario, and Nikki Jeeni Gojri have received millions of views. From local performances to major cultural platforms like Chamba Minjar Fair, Kullu Dussehra, Mandi Shivratri, and Shimla Winter Carnival, his voice has reached audiences across India. He also owns “IB Studio Shahpur” and leads the IB Official Team. His dedication has earned him several honors, including Him Icon Award, Shan-e-Dharakandi Ratna Award, Voice of Himachal Award, Himachal Excellence Award, and recognition from Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
