Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is one of the greatest cricketers in Indian history. He is considered one of the greatest batsmen in the world. Tendulkar was born on 24 April 1973 in Mumbai (Maharashtra). Sachin holds many big records in cricket. Tendulkar is the only batsman in cricket history who has scored more than 50 centuries in Test cricket. Sachin Tendulkar has scored 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries in 329 innings of 200 Test matches. He has 15,921 runs to his name. He scored 49 centuries, including a double century, in 463 ODIs while scoring a total of 18,426 runs. Sachin Tendulkar started his cricket career at the age of only 16 in 1989 against Pakistan. At that time, Pakistan had the world’s best army of fast bowlers, while people were afraid of spinners. It was Sachin who stunned the world by hitting 4 back-to-back sixes (4 sixes, including a hat-trick and a four for 28 runs) in a single over to the great Abdul Qadir. Apart from India’s biggest award, the Bharat Ratna (2013), Sachin Tendulkar has also received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna (1997), the Maharashtra Bhushan Award (2001), the Padmashree (1999), the Padma Vibhushan (2008), and many awards related to cricket. He was also a Rajya Sabha MP (2012-18). He is doing great work in the field of education through the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation. In the 14th year of his life, he used it to create a world record of scoring 664 runs while playing with Vinod Kambli in the Harris Shield School Cricket Competition. Here Sachin scored 329 runs. In June 2007, Tendulkar reached another big milestone when he became the first player to score 15 thousand runs in One Day International cricket. In November 2011, he became the first batsman to score 15,000 runs in Test matches as well. A month later, he scored a double century in an ODI against South Africa. By doing so, he became the first person in history to score 200 runs in an innings of an ODI. Sachin retired from ODI cricket on 23 December 2012. On 16 November 2013, in his last Test match in Mumbai, he played an innings of 74 runs and retired from Test cricket as well. In the same year, he also said goodbye to IPL. He scored a total of 34,357 runs in his career. This includes 15,921 test runs. Let us tell you here that due to his long and illustrious cricket career, Tendulkar has often been compared to Australia’s Don Bradman. Sachin is also known as god of cricket. Only Sachin Tendulkar has scored more than 2,000 runs in a World Cup of cricket in history. Throughout six World Cups, he totalled 2278 runs. Furthermore, with 673 runs in the 2003 World Cup, Tendulkar still holds the record for being the single highest scorer in a World Cup.
