*First-Ever Pahari-Only Film Festival 2027 Launched in Himachal: A New Direction for Regional Cinema*
_Mobile-shot films to compete with FTII projects; 70% Pahari dialogue mandatory; Prime-time telecast for winners_
*Solan, Himachal Pradesh – June 26, 2026:* In a historic move to revive Himalayan dialects on the silver screen, Him Welfare Organization has launched the *’Pahari Films Festival 2027′ (PFF-2027)* — the first film festival in the Himalayan region dedicated exclusively to short films in Pahari languages.
The festival challenges the mainstream by proving that *a smartphone can compete with a film school camera*. No big budgets, no expensive gear — just raw talent and authentic Pahari stories.
*3 Groundbreaking Rules of PFF-2027:*
1. *Language First:* Hindi/English films not accepted. Minimum 70% dialogue must be in any Pahari/Himachali dialect. 30% Hindi allowed.
2. *Social Impact:* Every film must address a social issue relevant to hill communities.
3. *Level Playing Field:* Films shot on mobile phones will compete directly with projects from premier institutes like FTII.
*Voices Behind the Revolution:*
*1. Dr. Naresh Kumar Kaundal – Founder*
> “This is not just a competition. This is our language, our culture, our script, our story, and our own screen. Countless folk tales, deity traditions, and lifestyles of Himachal will now reach the world through cinema. Talent is not dependent on resources.”
*2. Seema Kaundal – Managing Director, Him Welfare Organization*
> “PFF-2027 will run on a strict ‘No Loss, No Profit’ model. Our only goal is to identify real talent and give them a platform, not to earn commercial profit.”
*3. Neha Chauhan – Festival In-Charge*
> “This is a new revolution for Pahari cinema. This platform can change the entire direction of Himachal’s film industry in the coming years.”
*4. Advisory Board: Dr. Sushil Kumar, Saurabh, Gautam, and Nageen Bansal* Vishal Chauhan

*5. Local Artists: Mistry, Meera Thakur, Manu, Vijay Bhawani, Sunil Thakur, Khushi and Nikita*
> “Now, stories from the mountains won’t have to wait for a big stage. This festival is a golden opportunity for youth who have skill but no resources.”
*6. Special Contribution: Amit Albela – Advisor, Him TV Media*
*Amit Albela, Advisor at Him TV Media*, played a pivotal role in the design and planning of the entire show. He provided key suggestions and innovative ideas for the festival’s framework to ensure grassroots talent gets direct access to the stage and Pahari cinema gets the right direction.
*The organizing committee believes* this will give new momentum to the preservation of Himachali dialects and boost filmmaking in local languages.
*Key Dates for Filmmakers:*
– *Online Registrations:* July 1, 2026 to February 10, 2027
