*Shimla, October 22, 2026:* The year 2016 marked a turning point for Himachal’s entertainment industry when *Him TV Media introduced ‘Himachal’s Got Talent’* – recognized as the first television reality show ever produced in the state. The program was broadcast on *Punjabi Hits and Zee Punjabi*, bringing the talent of the hills into mainstream television for the first time.
Himachal’s Got Talent has been considered as the first Reality show because it has fullfill all requirements of Reality shows of that time. *Entertainment Scenario Before 2016:*
Prior to 2016, the cultural landscape of Himachal was confined to live stage formats. *Dance Himachal Dance Stage Show, The Voice of Himachal Stage Show, Mela Stage Shows and various other district-level stage events* were the only available platforms. While these shows encouraged local artists, they remained restricted to temporary stages at fairs and local gatherings, without any TV coverage, structured set design or wider audience reach.
Him TV Media redefined the concept in 2016 by introducing a full-fledged reality show model which included auditions across all 12 districts, a professionally designed set with LED screens and advanced light-sound system, a jury comprising Bollywood and Pollywood personalities, multi-camera production with professional post-production, nationwide broadcast on Punjabi Hits and Zee Punjabi, and for the very first time in Himachal – an audience voting mechanism through SMS.

*10 Years – From a State Show to a National Format:* Celebrating a decade since its inception, Him TV Media which pioneered the reality show culture in Himachal in 2016, is now expanding its footprint with its national-level reality show *’Himalaya’s Got Rock Talent’*. The initiative that began as a state platform has now evolved into a national movement.
The forthcoming season will showcase *Pahadi Folk, Nati, Pahadi Language along with diverse National Folk traditions*, aiming to give equal prominence to Himalayan culture and India’s rich folk heritage.
